Lumae began with a simple wish: to help the person I care about feel more prepared when she was out on her own.
WHY LUMAE EXISTS
I couldn’t walk every way home with her.
The idea for Lumae began with a familiar feeling: caring about someone you love when she is out on her own. I couldn’t be beside my girlfriend on every late shift, transit ride, parking lot or walk home.
So I started looking for something small she could keep within reach—simple enough to use quickly, and easy enough to carry every day.
That search became Lumae: a practical way to feel more prepared, and a quiet reminder that someone wants you home safe.

Item finding locates the Lumae device. It does not continuously track a person, contact 911 or automatically share a location.
